Aquatic Venue Digital
L-shape! Yes, you did hear that right… the Yap!digital team have just conceived, made and installed a L-shaped digital screen at WA’s High Performance Centre (HPC) in Claremont. From July 2025, VenuesWest’s Tom Hoad Aquatic Centre (THAC) ‘pool hall’ is the proud recipient of leading-edge digital technology. Check out the time-lapse video which shows how the Signs & Lines / Yap!digital team replaced end-of-life screen technology with a striking new LED digital super screen.
Covering an area of 80m², the indoor rated P10 screen has specially engineered for wet environment. The IP rated waterproof enclosures were selected for their high performance in indoor aquatic environments. Considerations such as humidity, chemicals and wet environments defined the Yap!digital teams’ robust solution. Like most product ranges, there are many options available and finding the best fit solution is part of our expertise.
Striking a pose on the side of the pool hall, this imposing LED digital super screen provides excellent viewing and visibility for participants, race swimmers and spectators.
Delivering on our Promises
Whilst we are often our biggest critique, we also are proud to shout from the rooftops when a project goes to plan. And this one did! Don’t just take our word for it… here’s a testimonial from the VenuesWest project team outlining our team’s service on this project.
“From initial planning through to final execution, it has been a pleasure working with everyone at Signs and Lines to deliver this screen project on time, safely, and with minimal disruption our daily operations and events. The finished product looks fantastic, and customer feedback has been extremely positive. Special mention goes to the teams at Empire Access and Collect Electrical, their professionalism and attention to detail throughout the works were highly commendable.” Thomas Smith | Capital Works Coordinator
A big shout out from us also to our amazing subcontractors on this project, to whom we are very grateful.
Screen Viewing Options/Design Intent
The project included the design, supply and installation of an LED digital super screen spanning 19 metres wide and 4.8 metres high at the maximum, 2.8 metres high at the minimum. The L-shape configuration allows plenty of display options. It can be configured to run two different content streams at the same time.
- Imagine live, real-time swim race content on one screen area
- Overall scoreboard on another screen area
- Advertising material and event promotion on one screen area
- Venue safety information on another screen area
The options are endless. Versatility is the key and the L-shape design delivers this in spades. Contact us to get a copy of the full Case Study.

Getting the Site Works Done
Installation methodology is a key component to getting a signage project of this scale right. Our project management team initiated a meticulous review of the site conditions, hazards and signage requirements. The workable operating space around the THAC pool was very tight resulting in careful choices for equipment and machinery. Where others see challenges – we see solutions!
Electrical & Commissioning
The Yap!digital and Signs & Lines team take care of all the electrical planning and commissioning as part of our full turnkey solution. Electrical work was performed on site qualified electricians. After wiring and commissioning the LED digital super screen, our team installed the hardware such as sending cards, video processor, PC equipment, HDMI ports, etc. Since the pool hall is a highly corrosive area, we made sure that every component was carefully selected to suit the environment.
Every project is different. Every project requires a unique solution.
Quality Outputs
From tender to completion our professional team based in Midvale, WA, completed the entire project. Our digital technical specialists provided advice and consultation to deliver a quality product, to timelines and to budget.
VenuesWest are delighted with the finished product which was delivered to agreed timelines and budget.
