Signs & Lines are committed to improving our green footprint through every step of our sign design, manufacture and installation process. Our aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions where practicable. Our simple philosophy resolves around Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – the three R’s. However we are also looking at ways to extend this to the 5 R’s – adding in refuse and repair. Where possible we will repair signage elements rather than making from new.

With one of the business owners with an honours degree in Envionmental Science, sustainabilty is deep rooted at Signs & Lines. So our commitment to responsible business practices takes center stage. We aim to foster a positive impact on the environment, taking an important journey towards a more sustainable and responsible future.

Our Recyling and Sustainability Initiatives

Importantly we employ a strict programme of waste recycling. This includes the responsible disposal of paint, chemicals and e-waste.

Signs & Lines is fast evolving into a market leader in sustainable sign manufacture. Some of the ways we contribute to our green footprint include:-

  • Metals – aluminium, steel, ACM offcuts are recycled through our recycling partners;
  • Cardboard, packaging and plastics are recycled through our waste partners;
  • Digital/tech waste;
  • Correct disposal of waste products such as paint and chemical waste;
  • Responsible storage of hazardous substances;
  • Spill management;
  • We have replaced our workshop lighting to low temperature LED lights, resulting in a significant reduction in energy usage.
  • Signage no longer in use is stored and re-used where possible;
  • Energy and resource conservation.
Other Environmental initiatives

For the last 10 years Signs & Lines have utilised over half of our power from the sun. We fitted a 156 solar panel system on our factory roof. Consequently this is going a long way to reduce our carbon footprint. This has been estimated as an abatement of 45 tonnes of CO² per year – that’s the equivalent of 167 trees per year!
