Fabricated Letters Lit to Perfection

A cacophony of colours and shades were popping up as we performed critical LED tests in the factory this week. The result – letters lit to perfection!

Looking to light up your brand? For great looking fabricated letters call in the experts. People are often suprised at the extent of our manufacturing capabilities. A visit to our Midvale factory will reveal the extent our our production talents where creativity knows no bounds.

Once the metal work has been completed, the sign elements are prepped prior to spraypainting. From frames, faces and edges, the brand colours are matched to ensure that every sign is of the highest quality.

The next part of the process is the lighting. LEDs are a game-changer and provide so many fantastic colour variations. For a recent projects we used RGBW LED’s provided by Bounce LED. The LEDs are added in a carefully executed pattern to ensure optimal illumination of the signage. These colour tests were underway recently and as you can see, the letters lit to perfection!

In terms of colour ways it’s hard to pick a favourite, but I think the hot pink gets my vote. These RGBW LED’s shown on the right are set to dazzle when the signage finds its new resting place very soon. RGBW allows for varied and versatile illumination – colour co-ordinating with themes, seasons or promotions for all to see!

Behind the Scenes – Fabricated Letters

For all the glitz and glamour of the dazzling LED’s, illuminated fabricated letters involve a lot of careful planning, design and detailing. Our design department meticulously create to scale drawings of each fabricated element. The design intent is then scrutineered by qualified engineers to ensure compliance and build suitability. They will also review location or environmental factors that may impact on the signage once installed. Once approved, the team createmeticulous construction drawings and our fabrication team swing into action. No letter too large, no logo too complicated, no shape too tricky. With millimetre precision the metal fab team craft out of aliminium, steel and stainless.

The factory images above show a wide range of signs in various stages of production during Winter 2024. The scale of some of our work is seen when you add one of our team into the photo. There is some pretty big signage underway!

Need an Illuminated Sign?

There are many ways to illuminate a sign. Whilst LEDs are very popular, other options include fluorescent, neon or halogen. Our top 2 picks are shown below:-

  • Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) – cost-effective, bright, and available in numerous colours. LEDs are trustworthy, offer long lasting, good value and a highly reliable source of illumination . They can be operated 24/7.
  • Fluorescent bulbs – come in different sizes and are good value. They are less good for the environment as phosphor gives off light which is a valid decision making factor.
  • Neon – neon gas produces a red-orange color when electricity is applied. This effect can be sustained and is stable, so it is safe to use in a widespread manner. The glow produced by neon will shine a light on a business or message, allowing it to be seen in light or dark situations.

Ultimately illumination will depend on the design, business and brand needs. There are plenty of options – feel free to discuss your ideas with us.
