Signage Site Survey – Essential Works
It’s been flat out in our Sales & Project Management team at Signs & Lines the last month as we finalise contracts, submit big tenders and get job sheets into the factory for production.
The next few months our factory will be humming which is just the way we like it. One very important part of our process is checking progress on site. This ensures that the site will be ready for our installation team.
Desktop reviews of GANTT charts and works programmes are all very well, but it’s also really valuable to get to site for a signage site survey. Only then can we be sure that our installs teams will be able to complete all the works with ease and efficiency.
Site Surveys – All in a Day’s Work
This week our ‘girl power’ did a site induction for the new BGC Construction site for Blackburne at Karrinyup East Village apartments. Renee and Paula visited site to check works progress, view the status of locations of all our signage and get prepared for installations. And with the safety inductions under their belt it was time to get down to the business of a full site survey and double checks.
These apartments are really looking great and have fantastic views. Our signage is being installed as we speak and we hope to share some photos of the finished product shortly.

Top 10 Signage Options for Apartment Developments
From the moment you look at an apartment building there are so many signs to consider. From the building signage, external pylons and entrance signs on the exterior. And internal navigation signage for the interior. There are many standout and cost-effective signage options to ensure the apartments are functional, easy to navigate and compliant.
We explore our top 10 favourites. This list is by no means fully comprehensive, but for developers, project sales or those new to apartments, they will be a good starting point.
Signage types and locations to consider include:
- Billboards and entry statements off main roads;
- Directional and wayfinding signage throughout development;
- Internal reception signage including maps, directories, wallpaper imagery, posters and digital signage such as wayfinding map tables;
- Directional pylons, totems and monoliths;
- Community amenities, event, BBQ, land release and facilities signage,
- Car park signage and traffic signs;
- Door and apartment number signage – level indicators and lift signage;
- Destination signage – for new stage releases, events or campaigns;
- Statutory signage – fire, regulatory, pool and all the necessary compliance signage;
- Landscaping banner mesh to promote messaging whilst hiding apartments under construction.
Once you have determined the sign types required, originality is the key. Our team will help your development project stand out from the crowd.
