St George’s Anglican Grammar School uses its inner city location to good effect. This newly installed signage definitely gets top marks!
The main building sign is perched high on Level 8 of St George’s Anglican Grammar School in Perth. It makes a bold architectural statement. Spanning more than 10 metres in width, the illuminated sign commands attention while reinforcing the school’s modern visual identity.
Engineered for both durability and precision, each letter was manufactured from 3mm aluminium. This provided a clean, lightweight structure suited to large-scale external applications. The letter elements were finished using a high-quality 2 pak paint system. This is vital to create a smooth, resilient surface that maintains its vibrancy over time. The chosen colour palette – mid green, light green, and white – aligns with the school’s branding while standing out against the surrounding building.
LED Illumination
Illumination was achieved using internal LED modules, delivering consistent, energy-efficient lighting across each letter face. The result was a crisp, evenly lit sign that remains highly legible from a distance.
The sign was securely affixed to horizontal rail supports. Importantly this ensures stability while preserving the sleek, floating appearance of the design. Refer to the design drawings on the right to show the level of complexity required to complete this sign.
Given its elevated location, installation was completed via rope access, demonstrating both technical expertise and careful planning.
Upper Illuminated Logo Lightbox

A striking fabricated aluminium logo lightbox brings scale and sophistication to the school. It measured an impressive 3 metres wide by 5 metres tall. Built with 150mm deep returns, the structure offers both strength and visual depth.
The sign was designed as a flexface system. It features a backlit, direct print banner finished with a protective clear coat for longevity and colour vibrancy. LED illumination ensures even, energy-efficient lighting across the entire surface. It was installed using a sail track system for a clean, seamless finish. Importantly, the lightbox also incorporates specialised fire-rated materials. This offers both aesthetic impact and compliance with essential safety standards.
Positioned atop the rooftop, this glowing installation captures attention both day and night. The elevated placement ensures maximum visibility, making them a powerful tool for brand recognition and identity.
Lower Logo Sign
The Lower Logo sign was a complex series of 3mm aluminium letters and crest.
The letters and crest were painted with 2 pac paint and stood off the external facade.
LEDs created a halo lighting effect.
The sign elements were fitted to a framing panel prior to installation onto the wall. This combination of materials and lighting results in a welcoming, high-quality sign.
Ground Entry Signage

A refined ground entry sign delivers a strong first impression for those entering the school. Fabricated aluminium letters were precision finished in a premium 2 pac matte coating. Using 2 pac paint ensures durability and a sleek, contemporary look. Each letter incorporates translucent Damplon to the rear—fire rated for added safety. Cool white LED’s were strategically placed allowing a soft halo glow to radiate against the brick wall. The logo is stood off the surface, the LED lighting creating depth and visual clarity.
The signage is more than just a branding element. Importantly it acts as a visual anchor for the school’s identity. It reinforces professionalism, pride and a forward-thinking approach. All qualities that align with St George’s Anglican Grammar School’s presence in the heart of Perth’s dynamic CBD environment.
