More exciting signage from the team at Signs & Lines transforming the skyline of Perth. 21 storeys up! New EY sky signs now adorn their new Perth offices in Elizabeth Quay.
Crafted with precision in our WA S&L factory, the EY logo included illuminated fabricated letters with striking yellow beam arrow. These signs showcase the skill of our local teams.
Sky signs are the jewel in the crown of brand marketing when it comes to signage. Illuminated 3D letters and logos make a bold skyline statement. Their powerful force adds weight to any building which is why sky signs shine bright. In this case, adding a touch of ‘brilliance’ to both north and south elevations.
This type of work is not for the faint-hearted. Once the two sets of 3D elements had been made, the real challenges are in transporting them to the top of the building. In this case, the new 9 The Esplanade (Lot 6) development in the fashionable Elizabeth Quay CBD area of Perth. Under construction since 2022 by Multiplex, the mixed use development is nearing the final stages in Feb 2025.
Sky Sign Manufacture
The EY 3D fabrication of the letters and beam commenced in our Midvale factory in late 2024. The project used the full talents of our design team, metal fabricators, routing area, spraypainting, LED and assembly departments. As the photos below reveal, this is a complicated process requiring skill and precision. Thankfully our team are adept in 3D letter making. Despite the scale of the works, we produced two sets of the letters and beam ready for installation in February 2025.
Installation that Challenges!
Sky signs by their very nature are usually high up! During the installation process we encountered some challenges stemming from conflicting site conditions. Our rope access team coped well to overcome some tricky situations. The letters were roped up the building from ground level, up 21 storeys. As the adage goes, it’s overcoming obstacles that truly fortify us! Despite the hurdles impacting our planning for one of the elevations, the Signs & Lines project team prevailed. Well done to Jay, Kevin, Tristan and Richard who persevered, culminating in yet another standout addition to the Perth skyline.
