#SAFEWORKMONTH – SAFETY TOGETHER

#SAFEWORKMONTH – SAFETY TOGETHER

October is Safe Work Month. At last, #safeworkmonth is here…  As with previous years, Signs & Lines is fully on-board with the #safetytogether motto and the annual focus month on safety. So, this week our safety activities start in earnest to reinforce our commitment to safety in everything we do.

This Wednesday we’re having a Toolbox ‘Bacon Butty’ gathering.

7am – don’t be late chaps!  Visitors Welcome:)

In addition to some yummy food, we are also going to be voting on 2 important subjects. Firstly, who will be this year’s S&L Safety Champion? And secondly, what will our new safety slogan be?

Who is this year’s Safety Champion??

The criteria has been set for the Safety Champion. The majority of our team have some sort of bearing on the overall safety of our workers and outputs. Many of our staff work in a high risk environments on an hourly or daily basis. So there is a constant need to have our wits about us!  Here are some of the criteria for who might be our Safety Champion this year:-

  • Maybe someone that works with high risk materials and equipment on a daily basis?
  • Maybe someone that is on site working at heights or in public environments?
  • Maybe someone in the office who is checking our dial before you digs or safety permits?
  • Maybe someone who prepares the SWMS and organises the safety on site?
  • Maybe someone who does something entirely different but has a very high regard for safety in everything they do?

So many ways to think about safety and who is most deserving of this title.

Once the votes are in we will announce the winner of the $50 Bunnings voucher!

Safety Slogan

We are also running a safety quote competition … as it’s been a while since we updated out safety slogan – about 5 years!!

Currently our slogan is … ‘Think SMART, before you START’.

It’s a great one, but maybe we are due for a change?

Nominations and winner to be announced later this week at the Toolbox Meeting.

More news on our #safeworkmonth – Safety Together activities for this October will be posted soon. Alternatively, if you’re keen to find out more about how we will deliver your next project safely and to our consistent excellent standards, find more here.
